Adventure Island was a side scrolling platformer the Game Boy released early days for the handheld. This simple, but fun left to right 'run 'n' gun' game features a catchy soundtrack, cute character and enemy designs and a good variety of level types! This was a port to the Game Boy and I review it here.

Hudson's Adventure Island[a] is a side-scrolling platform game produced by Hudson Soft that was released in Japan for the Famicom and MSX on September 12, 1986. Adventure Island was released in North America for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987 and in the PAL region in 1992 under the title of Adventure Island Classic.
Adventure Island is an adaptation of the arcade game Wonder Boy, developed by Escape for Sega. Adventure Island was followed by a series of sequels with no connection to the Wonder Boy series.
