Adventures of Pip is a 2D action plaformer where you play as a pixel (not really, you're more like a squishy square) and your home kingdom comes under attack from a witch who kidnaps the princess for her unnatural ability to create pixels from nothing (not the living kind, I don't think...pixels are also currency in this world, so...uh yeah). Anyway, you are told to go find a warrior who can save the princess. You run into the ghost of a once great knight who gives you power to use the bitstream to transform into a higher resolution character, 8-bit! By the second world you can become a 32-bit version of yourself! The different versions have distinct abilities. The 32-bit Pip has a sword to fight off enemies and weighs a lot and so can't bounce off mushrooms or be lifted by gusts of wind. 8-bit Pip is the most nimble as he can wall-jump and cling to walls. He also has a punch attack which can defeat most enemies, but not all. The pixel version of Pip is very small to fit through small passageways, bounce the highest off of mushrooms, is lifted up by gusts of wind, and can float to extend the length of his jump. The puzzles come into play as you can lower your resolution whenever you want (go from 32-bit Pip all the way down to pixel Pip), but you can only up your res when you defeat certain glowy enemies. These enemies are placed in specific spots so you can do these puzzles, but you have to figure out which forms are needed when, and sometimes you have to change mid jump!

What I like:
+ This is very much a puzzle-platformer with some action fighting enemies and bosses. Changing forms to fit different circumstances is fun and makes you think just enough for entertainment without stumping you (at least not me).
+ This world is very aware of the differences in resolution between characters and there are plenty of jokes about it. It is even tied to social classes in the world.
+ All the bosses are original, no duplicates (sad that I have to mention that, but it is a plus over some other platformers).
+ If you die mid level, people saved stay saved, treasure is lost and must be reobtained.

What I don't like:
- It would be nice if all the environments weren't so clumped together. Seeing the same scenery and hearing the same stage music for seven levels straight gets a little tiring. I wish the environments were more mixed around rather than segmented the way they are.
- The overworld map itself is kinda pointless since the path is a straight line with no branching paths or side areas. It's really just a way to visualize your total progress.

My Recommendation:
I do recommend this game as it is fun and unique. It should take somewhere between 5-10 hours to complete, depending on your skill level. I 100%ed the game in just under 6 hours, but the store page says it should take closer to 10. The later stages do get somewhat difficult, but I wish they would've gone further and made a post-game section of even harder levels. The game is fun and has a sense of humor.
