Aeon VR 4k -- Action Adventure RPG First Play
6Review: Playing Aeon for at least an hour was a surprisingly fun VR experience for me as compared to what the negative reviews made it out to be and it turned out to be quite a workout. Yes, the movie short "Adam" assets were used in this game. It is allowed as far as I know so that is out of the way.
Aeon starts out seemingly easy then gets progressively harder even on easy mode. The game was not bad at all. The are special abilities you get as you go that you have to learn to use to your advantage. The swords were cool cutting robots to pieces and chopping heads off, literally. The game starts easy to help get you used to how the game plays, the guns shoot and how to use your bullet time effectively. But Aeon gets progressively more difficult as you go along: Ai gets more agile; new mobs get added in each level ramping difficulty and keeping things fresh; "boss" moments are in there as well which should satisfy everyone who likes this genre. And there are checkpoints !!! Yay !!! No more going all the way back after dying. For me: This is "not your average wave shooter". And you can't compare it to larger titles but Aeon does what it does well I think and grows you at a decent pace in game. I understand people want locomotion right away in games like this and so do I but as you get your abilities/weapons you have to use them alone to survive and that makes this game a genuine challenge. One ability you get gives you some agility so be patient. After playing this beautiful game for 1hr.+ I understood this and even though I don't prefer hard games I was satisfied with my time in Aeon and had a workout .... on easy mode. This is a definite buy on sale and for those who love sci-fi themes. My rating for it would be a 6/10.
