AI-Controlled Vtuber Test Stream - Aiko
5Aiko is a vtuber powered by a LLM. I recently came back after a 5-year hiatus from writing code because I was inspired by the challenge of seeing how Neuro-Sama works by making an ai streamer myself. It's been a ton of fun to work on, and surprisingly accessible to do.
This vtuber is called Aiko (as in Artificial-Intelligence-ko, but in Japanese ai is love and ko is child, I think). Aiko can respond with (debatable) logic, be funny, read YouTube chat, ramble if there is no chat, remember its conversation history as it goes (within limits), chat in real time with me through my microphone (discord call support is WIP), and respond with a semi-realistic AI-generated voice. There is also a clone of Aiko running on my Discord (plugged below) if you want to chat.
In the future I'd like to improve the animations, get the ai to interact with other platforms on-stream including discord, twitch, and others, let the AI control more elements of the stream, and create an emotions system to give it more personality and better simulate feelings so it can be happy, mad, silly, angry, etx (with accompanying facial expressions). Also gotta add live captions.
The model is mostly free stock assets, but maybe I will make something a little more custom someday.
