In January 2018 AICF Secretary Bharat Singh Chauhan was interviewed by IM Sagar Shah at the IIFLW Mumbai International 2018. The Secretary was asked the question, "Apart from Nihal and Praggnanandhaa who do you think are the biggest talents of Indian chess?" Bharat Singh thought for a while and said, "I won't be surprised if Arjun Erigaisi becomes Telangana's first GM."

At that point Arjun didn't even have a single IM norm! And today after eight months he has achieved three IM norms, three GM norms, crossed 2500 and become India's 54th GM!

What an amazing forecast! Rarely you will find a secretary who follows the games of the players so diligently!
