The knowledge of Game Theory helped Vaibhav Suri win the Biel Masters 2018
Vaibhav Suri had one of the biggest results of his chess career. He started as the 19th seed at the Biel Masters 2018 and finished first, a half point clear of rest of the field, with 7.5/9. This was one of Vaibhav's finest performance in his chess career.
The pressure related to winning the tournament began to rise for Vaibhav since the 7th round, when the finish line was in sight. But Suri managed to keep his cool by remembering something he had learnt in Economics!
What was it? And how did this student who majored in Economics use something that he had read in textbooks to apply it to his chess games? Check out this detailed interview of GM Vaibhav Suri with ChessBase India correspondent Rupali Mullick.
