Happy New Year!
I'm glad I got to upload this as a first for 2015. It's a pleasure working with Joe (viola) and Michael (cello), and on a song that I've wanted to play for a long time.

I got the spark to arrange this for string quartet after a summer of religiously listening to Ryota Komatsu's album "Tangologue". That album taught me that no good tango should be without a string quartet.

The intro is the half of the opening cadenza from Jacob Gade's famous tango, "Jealousy". I was going back and forth between transcribing Aivi's original piano intro to the quartet or not having an intro at all, since I never liked what I could come up with. Instead I chose "Jealousy" because I think its rubato and Romantic character complements the main theme of "Cavern Tango" especially at the end.

This was such a great experience for me from making the sheets, getting everyone's recordings back and then piecing it all together. [I will probably not do the video editing again next collab though. :)...] I hope you enjoy the work that we put in as well, thanks for listening!
