I had to get something smaller for trucking around and making music on the go. My MPD24 was way to heavy and this was perfect. The MPK Mini is lightweight but built solid. The knobs are low profile, so the controller can fit nicely in a bag, and they wont break off like other taller knobs. The pads are good, thicker than the usual trademarked Akai pads. The only downfall is the keys feel less than good. I understand this thing is just for beat um' up on the go performance, but still pretty bad. But its something you can get over because the tap tempo and Arp (arpeggiator) option make it more interesting. Also its Micro USB powered, so AC is optional not a must. 7/10 In my book, worth buying if you on the go like me or love coffee shop jamin. This get's you out of your music dungeon, and spreads sci-fi elements into other places, and it will make you stand out.
