Once upon a time, video games based on movies were not all bad and this holds true, especially for games based on disney movies. Aladdin for the SNES is a charming platformer that follows the plot of the movie. Gameplay is simple, just make it from one end of the stage to the other one (occasionally there being a boss waiting) by running, jumping, swinging, throwing apples at bad guys to stun them and yes, jumping on top of them. All the while collecting Blue Gems (every 100, gives you one extra heart to your life meter) and Red Gems (collect all in a particular Stage and you'll get to play a bonus level). One curious thing about this game, is that it plays very differently then the version for the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive), because the SNES version was developed by Capcom and the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) version was developed by Virgin Interactive.

This game is essentially a part of my childhood, i grew up during the 90s and this, among others were the games i was playing back then (some of which i still own, this is one of those). So i decided to relive the past by replaying this one and i enjoyed it a lot. Seriously worth playing!

One thing of note though, during this playthrough i was NOT actively going for all the red crystals, any bonus stages i unlocked, were purely by coincidence.
