Please note that when I was collecting these I was basically running around checking all areas before moving on to next checkpoints.
Act 1: The Mechanic (Rest Stop)
1)Alan Wake, The Writer - At the beginning of the level, Make your way to the next area and you will see it lying on a couple of logs to your right. (Near the Oil Rig)
2)To many Legs - As you make your way down from the Oil Rig you will find the Motel infront of you. If you go right and make your way to the diner. Go down the left side of the diner and you will see it directly ahead lying on a rock.
3)Hunting Mr. Scratch - Go back to the front of the diner near the sign and look
across (Opposite) the main road. You should see another Small Oil Rig. The Manuscript will be on the base of it.
4)Pages and Instints - Back at the motel, there will be a girl working on a car in the garage. Before going inside to talk to her, go down the right side of the garage. The manuscript will be attached to the fence.
5)The Devil is in the Details - If you go back to the front of the motel (Gas Station) and look to your right, you should see a yellow jeep, Go past the car and follow the road until you come to some train tracks. The manuscript will be on your right attached to a fence.
6) New Reality : The Satelite - Go back to the garage and talk to emma, after talking to her you will receive the manuscript (Story Related)
7)The Splitter - Go back to the front of the Motel (Gas station) and look over the road. You will see two trucks, Cross the road and go past these trucks and carry on moving forward until you see the manuscript lying on a rock.
8)Rewriting Reality - From the front of the Motel (Gas station) go right towards the yellow jeep, this time make your way across the road and keep to the left. You will come to another building. As you go around the back, a Taken will break through the door. Take care of him and then to your right you will see the manuscript lying on a rock next to a wooden fence.
9)The Twisted Mirror - After going to the diner and collecting the keys. Make your way back to the Motel and go past the garage and enter the room on the end, next to the table with the radio. The manuscript will be on the bed.
Act 1: The Scientist (Observatory)
10) Success - At the beginning, go through the main gate and look to your right. There will be a fire truck. The manuscript will be on the trucks front bumper.
11)Fighting the Taken - From the main gate, go left and follow the road until you come to a building with a carpark, The manuscript will be lying on a concreate barricade next to a red car.
12)The Genesis of Mr.Scratch - From the Main Gate, Go Right and follow the road until you see a building to your right. There will be a Green sign (Deliveries) in front of this building with a white van. Go to the left side of this white van and you will find the manuscript on the floor next to it.
13)The Spiders - From the deliveries Building, go back to the road and keep following it up to the top by the observatory. When you have the observatory In front of you, look to your left. You will see a huge container near a black van. The manuscript will be on the left side of this container lying on a rock.
14)Pressure - From the observatory entrance, Go left and follow the building around. You will find a manuscript lying on a barrel next to some rocks to the right.
15)New Reality: Fragment 1 - This manuscript you will get automatically after reading the page from the printer.
Act 1: The Curator (Drive-in Theatre)
16)The Grenadier - Immediately from the start of this level, you will be facing the main entrance to the drive-in. Look directly behind you and head towards the sign Drive-in Theatre. It will be on the rocks by the sign
17)Bright Falls - Facing the main entrance of the drive-in, move forward and turn left by the office. The manuscript will be lying on the ground next to a dumpster around the back of the building (Office) by the fence
18)A Car in Flight - From the Office, make your way down to the car parking area. To the far right near the big screen, there will be manuscript lying on a rock near
19)What Really Matters - In the Car Park area, Look for a yellow car near the back with flashing lights, boots and doors open. They Manuscript will be in the boot.
20)Alice - From the Security Room which is between the big screen and the projector room, Look out for some stairs leading you down to the building where you need to restore the power. Go through the gates and keep going forward until you come to a safe point in the corner. The manuscript is to the left of this light lying on some sacks.
