I've been sitting on this game for a while, trying to find the right time to play it. Honestly, I purchased Alan Wake Remastered back when it was first released, and as time passed, I thought there would never be time for me to play it. After finishing Starfield (which I would like to go back to and see what New Game+ has in store), Super Mario Wonder (there are still some levels I need to get through), and Spider-Man 2 (which I platinumed), I needed to find something to occupy my time.

With Alan Wake II's recent release, now seemed the perfect time to start the first Alan Wake. And I don't know what I think about it. I suppose it's OK. I am playing it on Easy because I'm more interested in the story and would need to play the game on Nightmare to get all Achievements. That isn't happening, so I have no incentive (other than challenge) to play on anything other than Easy.

I like the story so far. It's driving the game forward for me. I think the mechanics of the game are interesting. I remember them from the first time I tried playing the game in the 360 days. Back then, I bounced off reasonably quickly. I don't know why. It could have been aiming with the flashlight, and then aiming the gun to shoot was more than I cared to handle at the time. But now, I'm enjoying it. It's fun, and we'll see if I stick with it.
