All of the levels played-through in order, including the secret island, totaling 23 levels. It excludes collectables, although some are found. There are no lives lost apart from one or two on the final castle level- this is because a flying item is needed to complete this level, and this level is too far from a level with a shop selling a flying item. It also shows what losing a life does compared to the original master system version. All of the game is played with the DX version on- can be switched to master system version with RT button throughout, but it isn't the same as it and looks a bit like it only.
