Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Ellen Ripley, is informed the flight recorder of her mother’s ship was recovered and is offered the chance to pick up the recorder and get closure over her mother’s disappearance.
➡️ Upon arriving, it is apparent the ship, called the Sevastopol, contains an alien.
She manages to retrieve the flight recorder.

One way or another, the alien and its offspring remain a threat: either through their sheer will to survive or the greed of the Weyland-Yutani initiative to capture a live alien.
