Alien Isolation Texture Tool - Progress Update (Week 2)
So it's now nearing the end of the second week since I started work on the custom texture tool. As you can see in this video it's coming together well! Thanks to Cra0kalo and Keytotruth who helped me out with some pre-existing code, the tool is well on the way to being finished minus the odd few issues which will be sorted out in the final stages of development. I'm hoping to have the tool released next week.
So what can this tool do exactly? Well it can do four main things: load the list of each level's textures, allow you to view each texture, allow you to export each texture and finally allow you to import your own custom textures.
As it currently stands, I don't have all the maps in the program (DLC maps, etc are missing) but I'll add support for these before I release the tool. It's not exactly a massive issue stopping me from including them, I just haven't gotten around to it yet as I'll have to include validation to check if the user owns them or not.
Aside from obvious UI tweaks and stuff that need completing, I'm also working on figuring out exactly what is causing the odd few texture glitches in-game after using the tool (I think I know what's causing this) and I'm also working on just general validation stuff (like file errors, etc). There are also issues with a few file formats that I'm looking into which may prove tricky.
