Last night I made an Alien MU-TH-UR 6000 theme for Atom, a free text editor.

I need to get out more...

Features include sound effects for typing, saving, text selection and pasting, etc. They also play from a bank of possible sounds so you get a nice random variation on key presses and
other actions.

If you want to run this yourself, here's how:

Step 1:
Download and install Atom:
https://atom.io/

Step 2:
Install the following two themes:
https://atom.io/themes/hacking-the-kernel

https://atom.io/themes/hacking-the-kernel-ui

Step 3:
Install "Sound package for Atom editor"
https://atom.io/packages/sound

Step 4:
Download "Alien Soundset.zip":
https://mega.nz/#!3YwEmCZQ!oOdAFxM-7wbVy3dwZv_gcJc5ppbwS0AZy7Sql5K16Mo

Unzip "hacking-the-kernel-Alien Styles.zip" and place the files in:
C:\Users\YourUserName\.atom\packages\sound\soundset

Step 5:
Download "hacking-the-kernel-Alien Styles.zip":
https://mega.nz/#!3R5k3aTb!bXhGRxbpeNH_MhmP4sDG8QTeq9Wt3cCQ7vL6oyN35sI

Unzip "hacking-the-kernel-Alien Styles.zip" and place the files in:
C:\Users\YourUserName\.atom\packages\hacking-the-kernel\styles

Step 6:
- Start Atom.
- Change your UI theme to "hacking-the-kernel-ui".
- Change your Style theme to "hacking-the-kernel-ui"
- Enable the Sound Package.
- Choose the "Alien" sound set from the "Sound" package configuration options.

Done!

You will find all necessary links below in the description.

(If you run into any problems getting it to work, please let me know in the comments below and
I'll see what I can do.)

Till next time...
