Aliens: Colonial Marines is a first-person shooter based on the Alien franchise and developed by Gearbox Software. The game's story focuses on finding Ellen Ripley. Aliens: Colonial Marines offers a campaign including eleven missions which you can accomplish solo or in co-op. When playing on split screen, two players can take part. When you are playing online, four people can cooperate. The developer designed the missions to fit in the series as much as possible – they show characteristic locations, refer to well-known issues and offer the players equipment they know. The weapons include flamethrower or a smartgun detecting enemies. An important element is a motion detector playing distinctive sound when targets are approaching.
