Aliens: Fireteam Elite - How NOT to use voice comms
So, these two arranged voice comms with me, they were talking no problem. And then the moment the match started, proceeded to say nothing but silence, occasional background noise, and the odd curse.
Bonus lag. Because of COURSE the host(guzman126) is laggy too. Probably using wifi on his console.
This is a fantastic example of how NOT to play a team game with other players. Don't be these guys. FFS.
Yeah, I'm salty and annoyed. BUT it's a good example. Arrrrgh!
So besides the lag and issues there(enemies teleporting on top of people, being hard to kill even when hit directly, rubber banding), there are a couple actual gameplay issues here:
1. I'm using an attachment that gives me bonus damage when I hit an enemy with full health. It might just be lag(I'm testing out a build.), or it might be that the Technician's electrocoils and flame turret were damaging the Poppers enough to stop that but also not enough that my own shots would finish them in a single hit. I'll have to test that some more later, with a connection that isn't awful.
2. Towards the end, everyone ran off on their own. This is basically suicide in that room without a lot of Elite-killing ability, which we did not have. So, the Stalker took us apart. I might have salvaged that by popping a Cryo and a Drone in the doorway before heading up the ramp, I might not have. Recon and Technician wouldn't be much help alone, unless built for damage, which neither appears to be.
3. When you split up like that and someone goes down on Insane, they're usually dead because no one's in position to cover the person reviving, which often leads to a squad wipe. As it did here.
4. If you have two teammates down next to each other, revive the one that went down first, so they don't bleed out. You don't always have time in the first place, but if it's even close, going for the person with the longer bleedout time just condemns the shorter bleedout time one to death. I'm actually partially built to revive others with this setup too, which makes it even more frustrating.
