I typically don’t do videos like this but I really wanted to make one to try and show some of the key differences between the Alienware AW3225QF 4K/240 hz OLED panel and the Samsung Odyssey 4K/240 hz VA panel. These are very similar monitors released only about a year apart with the major difference being the OLED + glossy screen of the Alienware vs the VA + matte screen of the Samsung. The Samsung also had a more intense curve than the Alienware.

I was indecisive when I first wanted to upgrade to the new OLED monitor as I did not know if it would be worth it since I already had the G8. I looked up videos and eventually decided to pull the trigger on getting the new Alienware monitor.

So, I decided to put both monitors on the settings that I personally prefer for each monitor and do a quick comparison of both using different methods.

The main takeaways that I love about the OLED over the VA is:

-The glossy screen is beautiful
-The OLED introduces no blooming (although this was too difficult to capture on video)
-The OLED has better clarity when viewing fast moving objects
-The OLED colors are more accurate even tho the VA can appear more vibrant at times (this will be personal preference for everyone)
-The OLED will have faster response times on paper for competitive games (I play a lot of those)

I feel like the G8 does hold its own for being the inferior product on paper but the OLED to me is definitely an upgrade.

Thanks for watching! :)
