3Today is a special day for Nintendo fans around the world as a brand-new Nintendo Direct has arrived. The show lasted a bit over 40 minutes and was filled with exciting announcements, including a brand new 2D Mario game in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a Super Mario RPG remake, a release date and new trailer for Detective Pikachu 2, the confirmation that the Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1 will be released on Switch, and much more.

The big finale for June's Nintendo Direct was Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a brand-new 2D Mario that will be released on Switch on October 20, 2023. The trailer featured an extended look at gameplay and even showed off a new Elephant power-up for Mario.
One of the big new surprises for this 2D Mario game is the Wonder Flowers, as they make wild and unexpected things happen in the world like causing pipes to come to life. Furthermore, it will let players choose whether to play as Mario, Luigi, Toad, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, and Yoshi.
