This is all my B-roll from UH Vs. UCSB Doubleheader Game 2 (4/19/25)
The Rainbow Wahine Softball team had a chance at second place in the Big West standings but fell in the back half of their doubleheader, 5-3, to the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Saturday.
Santa Barbara struck first with an RBI double from Bella Fuentes that brought in teammate Delana Ma'ae for the early 1-0 lead.
An inning later, UH got two RBIs from Larissa Goshi and Carys Murakami that brought in Cierra Yamamoto and Goshi respectively. UH found themselves in the lead, 2-1.
UCSB responded back in the fifth with four rums scored. That started with a double home run from Ainsley Waddell. Next was a 2 RBI single from Fuentes, and UCSB was back in the lead, 5-2.
UH tried to rally in the final two innings, but they were held to a single run in the sixth from Liliana Thomas. They had a final chance in the seventh with two runners on base, but Jamie McGaughey struck out, and pinch runner Sunni Kahanu was tagged out off a Thomas fielder's choice.
UH will hit the road for four games. That starts with a Wednesday game at Northridge at 9 a.m. and follows with a 3-game series against the Cal Poly Mustangs. UH will play a single game against Cal Poly on Friday, April 25 at 2 p.m. HST and play a doubleheader on April 26 at 1:30 p.m. HST.
