The optional E-Tech 145 hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter gas engine with an electric motor for a combined 143 hp. It provides smooth, linear power delivery and exceptional fuel efficiency.\n\nLively Handling, Firm Ride\nTrue to its Renault DNA, the Clio retains its keen handling and agile cornering capabilities. The steering is direct and nicely weighted, body roll is minimal, and cornering grip is tenacious. However, the tradeoff is a somewhat firm ride quality that can get choppy over rougher urban roads at lower speeds. Those seeking a more plush ride would be better served by a Volkswagen Polo.\n\nTight Rear Quarters\nWhile front seat space is generous, rear accommodations are fairly cramped for this class. Taller passengers will feel the pinch in both headroom and legroom, making the Clio less than ideal for carrying four adults. The cargo area also has a high load floor, but overall capacity is generous for a subcompact hatch.\n\nThe Right Balance\n\nWith its fresh styling, high-tech interior, and peppy yet fuel-efficient powertrains, the 2024 Renault Clio makes a compelling case for itself in the extremely competitive small car segment.
