I recommend finding all the Mortal Shell Shells as quickly as possible, that way you can test them out and be in the one that suits your playstyle. Thankfully, you can find most of the mortal shell shell locations without defeating any boss, only one shell requires defeating a miniboss, but it is the easiest boss in the game and really just plays as a tankier enemy. Getting all the Mortal Shell Classes is an easy process, especially when you are guided through it.
Mortal Shell is a RPG soulslike set in a grim world. You can run through the whole game without a shell, in the "Obsidian Dark" form, but this is for this truly hardcore. Most - will find it fun to inhabit 1 of the 4 "Mortal Shells" and upgrade the skill trees and abilities. You can freely switch between the shells as often as you want, but you will find that leveling them up is slow going. I recommend focusing on one of the shells first and getting one completely upgraded. It doesn't matter if you upgrade Harros the Vassal, Solomon the Scholar, Tiel the Acolyte, or Eredrim the Venerable first, but focus on the one that will fit you the best. Once you unlock all of the abilities in one shell - then Sester Genessa will be unlocked as a merchant.
