League of Legends’ upcoming new ADC champion, Zeri, has been officially revealed.
Last year, Riot Games originally planned to release five champions — one champion per role, including the Zaun ADC. However, according to Riot, the new ADC and support champion didn’t fit last year’s event. For this, Riot decided to release them in early 2022 instead.
After that announcement, there have already been many speculations on which character will be the upcoming Zaun ADC. Many even theorized that someone from one of the most popular shows of 2021, Arcane, would be that character.
Now, after months of waiting, Riot Games has officially revealed League of Legends’ upcoming champion, Zeri – The Spark of Zaun.
Zeri Release Date
There is still no official release date yet. However, as Zeri is revealed just before the patch 12.2 PBE, we can also expect to see her debut on League of Legends patch 12.2, scheduled for January 20, 2022.
Biography
“Raised in a large working-class family, Zeri grew up surrounded by warmth, care, and many strong opinions. They were no strangers to hardship, having lost loved ones to Zaun’s dangers. Even so, their community was their strength.”
“From birth, Zeri had a unique relationship with electricity. Each giggle caught a spark—each cry, a shock. Magic wasn’t rare in Zaun, but Zeri’s electric charm was. It charged with her emotions, sometimes grounded, sometimes building to fierce and fiery. By her teenage years, her neighbors knew she was more likely the cause of power outages than a broken circuit. Life in Zaun was beautiful chaos, her grandma would say, and Zeri embodied that all too well.”

Zeri Ablities
Riot will reveal Zeri’s abilities soon.
Based on Riot’s previous announcements, Zeri is a kinetic marksman “who’s always on the move” and pulsing with spark determination.
The new marksman loves to play the game at a machine-gun pace and brings the feeling of a shooter game to the roster.
One key point Riot mentioned about the new ADC on the champion roadmap is that they are re-exploring the role of the basic attack in the marksman champion’s kit — similar to Graves, Xayah, and Jhin.
“For this new champ, we wanted to re-explore the role of the basic attack in a marksman champion’s kit and see if we could completely turn its purpose around,” Riot on the new ADC champion.
