Allygator Jamboree (Concert Ver.) PUBLIC DOMAIN MUSIC - Did This Inspire Mr. Gators Swamp Jamboree?
"Allygator Jamboree" was composed by me in the 1990s and this version was recorded around 1998-1999. Although this specific video has been online since 2017, the track itself had been available on mp3.com and my former website, dogsounds.com, since the early 2000s. Recently I leaned about the fake "Everyday Chemistry" Beatles album that is a mash-up of existing recordings and which claimed to be "a stolen album from a parallel dimension where the Beatles never split up" (what nonsense). Imagine my surprise when I realised that one of the tracks on that Mashup album - created in 2009 - "Mr. Gators Swamp Jamboree" - has a bizarrely specific and similar title to my, older piece, and although not the same track, his mashup shares a basic thematic and compositional zeitgeist and feel to my "Allygator Jamboree" - a fun, stompy, ambling 4/4 bringing to mind lumpy, stompy alligators and silly shenanigans. I have no way to prove it, but I can't deny that there is a non-zero chance that James Richards, when creating his track, had at some point heard mine, which is cool.
