Not too long ago I described myself as a “small dolphin” while scrolling through the list of characters I have on my main account, and multiple people in the comments said there’s no way I’m not a “whale”.

I would be totally fine with being called a whale, but I’m a little unconvinced that it really fits.

Those comments brought a number of questions to mind. What makes a person a whale? Does my account actually fit the definition? What about the special circumstances which make my situation a little different to a typical player?

And what’s the absolute most that one person could spend on Genshin realistically?

I find these questions kinda interesting, so let’s let’s take a look at the different levels of spending which I personally think of as the boundaries between the different “types” of Genshin account, and then see where my own account fits into the scale, and why it matters.
