Samus takes on her arch-nemesis in this game, the Queen Metroid, and gets to meet the Baby Metroid after the fight.

What's there to say about this game that I haven't already said? I think this is by far the best Metroid fan game I've ever played and arguably the best fan game, period. This game manages to keep what made Metroid II an exciting adventure while adding so much more to enrich the story and the gameplay. Not only did this game feature most of the upgrades and power-ups we've seen in the other 2D games, but I love how they made each section of SR-388 distinctly unique among one another. The addition of bosses in this game provides a fun challenge as well, and they aren't too difficult to deal with. The Metroids themselves look much better than they did in the original, and their designs look so cool and their fights are pretty fun and challenging!

As far as I'm concerned, this game replaces the original Metroid II in terms of canon, because this game improves on everything that its predecessor did. I think fans of Metroid II will fall in love with this game, and fans of the Metroid series in general will adore this game, too! I just wish Nintendo would have handled things differently when it came to this game. Yes, they were in their legal right to shut it down, but the way they went about things left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. For the record, I have no desire to play Metroid: Samus Returns after playing this amazing game. I should be grateful that Nintendo is releasing two Metroid games, but needless to say I'm much more psyched to play Metroid Prime 4 when it comes out! :)
