Ambiance of an Apocalypse - 01 - Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days - (No Commentary)
[Game: Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days]
[Early Access]
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days just hit early access and I had to play it. With Elden Ring not playing well with my laptop, it was a perfect opportunity to try this a bit before my new PC gets here.

As hinted in a community post, this will be my interim game on Wednesday's until my new PC arrives. As such I might not get to a full playthrough, but if its something folks like I will try to add it to the rotation.
I did a partial playthrough in the previous days to check how it plays and get used to the controls. As such I learned a few things in playing I display in this ep. Mostly its take it slow and have an initial scout to clear a location, then follow with a hauler to clear it out.
In my testing I used Daphne and Penny and they were a great combo. I'd recommend them for first time players. With this I decided to try my second picks, which was Hector and Kayla.
If there is a next episode I'll continue my progress by looting and recruiting as I go. Given in my practice run I progressed the smuggler route, I thing I'll pursue the heli evac one this time.

As this is a filler series, while I wait for my new PC, I am not certain I'll be able to complete a run before it arrives. As such, if folks like this as a no commentary series, I'll try to add it to the rotation for a full run later.
Given I am currently limited to my laptop, I was forced to make some compromises in the settings. Specifically I recorded this at 1440p and upscaled it to 4k in rendering. Normally I'd avoid that and native render at 4k, but with my hardware limitation I took a chance. After rendering the game looks great, even on my 4k display, so I'll keep it. Any future series, with my new PC, will be on native, but for now I think this is acceptable.
