These 2023 CPU Benchmarks of the AMD R7 2700 & 2700X Ryzen CPUs compare performance vs. the AMD R7 5800X3D, R7 5800X, R9 5950X, and modern upgrade options. These new benchmarks also include the Intel i7-14700K, i5-14600K, i9-14900K (and more) and AMD's R7 7700X, 7800X3D, and most of the rest of the modern lineup. Testing will help you figure out if it's worth it to upgrade the 2700 & 2700X CPUs in your AM4 board, keep using them, or move to a new LGA1700 or AM5 system.
AMD's Ryzen 2700X could often be matched (or beaten) by applying an all-core overclock to the R7 2700, something we already documented extensively back when these parts came out. If you wanted a free upgrade option for your AM4 gaming PC, it might be worth overclocking the R7 2700 to get some more performance out of it (with only the power bill to pay).
