AMD vs Nvidia ray tracing showdown | Neon Noir graphics card benchmark
In today's video we're testing the best AMD and Nvidia graphics cards in Crytek's Neon Noir benchmark to find out how these cards stack up in terms of raw ray tracing performance.
When it comes to which graphics card is better for ray tracing, Nvidia or AMD? The answer is obvious, right? Nvidia has RT Cores in its graphics cards – silicon dedicated to accelerating ray tracing in-game – and AMD… well, AMD doesn’t. So there’s no real contest between the two when it comes to accurately portraying shadows, reflections, and lighting in-game.
But we’ve not had an opportunity to test out ray tracing across red and green team tech ever since real-time ray tracing started inching closer to mainstream game adoption. Until now! Crytek is offering us a chance to test both vendors graphics cards on even (ish) footing, thanks to its homegrown GPU-agnostic benchmark tool: Neon Noir.
