Amicia and Lucas continue on their journey, only to find that their path is blocked by soldiers. The soldiers are preventing a group of citizens from entering the district, citing orders from the Count and claiming that it is for the citizens' own protection. Lucas and Amicia decide to take a detour through a back alley, which they initially believe is someone's home. However, they soon realize that it is actually the butcher's dump, a place where animal bones, flesh, and other waste is discarded. They have to wade through the dirty and unpleasant sludge together in order to proceed.
