Playing through Amid Evil the way it was meant to be played: with ray tracing and more-importantly the Nintendo 64 controller! After the Nintendo 64, I quit playing games for a while as FPS games fundamentally changed. Every now and then a FPS game would be released in the classic style, but either I found it a bit too whimsical or a bit too rough around the edges. Amid Evil had the right formula of balance and design to bring me into the new "boomer shooter" craze. Its combination of low-resolution textures with modern lighting and materials creates an unique atmosphere. Plus its well-balanced arsenal and large variety of enemies makes it a very enjoyable experience. I have decided to honor my late-90's FPS roots and Amid Evil by using a Nintendo 64 controller.
