Amiga Homebrew-Music #13 [Art Of Chrome]
The Amiga was far ahead of its time in terms of sound technology. Even after the turn of the millennium, hobby musicians published their tracks on upload-portals (like "Aminet"). This series, this archive, is dedicated to them.
I remember how much fun I used to have when it came to browsing the Aminet CDs. At a time when most had long since switched to the PC (or Macintosh). At a time when the internet was on the rise - but still way too expensive for everyone to afford. The "Aminet" on CD was a Freeware-cornucopia of games, tools, documents, guides - simply everything. This of course included music software and the mods and multichannel directories. I don't regret a single hour spent listening to the many (Protracker, MED, Fasttracker and Digibooster) music tracks. There were always huge talents among the people. It was always huge fun to slowly watch your ".mod collection" grow.... because once in a while 30,40,50 new brilliant pieces found their way into my archive.
Here is a selection of them. Finally also represented on YouTube. They deserve this. And, of course, these are "only" my favorite pieces. They may not suit you personally - after all, music is absolutely a matter of taste. But maybe you'll find one or another good piece of Amiga-Paula Music here - and maybe you can halfway understand why I liked this and that track. Or you become aware of a musician you didn't know yet.
