Troubled Passage is an Indie, Isometric Action RPG Roguelike with random Dungeons all about the combat, a kind of Diablo like, with a more immersive combat system and offering actual camera control! OMG!

That may seem a bold claim, but in Troubled Passage, every button you hit changes the attack pattern, there is MUCH more than just auto attacking here, and you are not limited by a mana / stamina system slowing down your attacks!

You start with skills, which are combat techniques that change how you attack when you press the corresponding w / a / s / d keys, which greatly mix up the combat, preventing it from devolving down to just holding down the mouse button to auto-attack your way to victory.

You can auto attack here, and it is sometimes useful to reposition your character, and to take out an archer, but it deals less damage, and seems to be less effective at getting past shields; varied attacks coming from unexpected angles are best here!
You also built up a combo meter as you score using these techniques hits, granting bonus damage as you keep the kills coming!

Additionally, you can find new techniques in chests as you battle through the map, picking your path forward towards your goal, some of which deal more damage, are very advanced, and very impressive, like a flying thrust that lets you engage from further away, or a flashy roundhouse kick you just love.

That’s right, you can fight with your fists and feet if you wish, letting you kick and pummel your foes down, as well as a 2-handed weapon system that swings slower, but tends to hit harder, and has MUCH larger arcs to impact your foes.

There are currently 4 classes / Trades to choose from at the start:
Butcher, Blacksmith, Lumberjack, Hunter, and they all feel different, starting with a focus in swords, hammers, axes, or bows, so pick which one you like, though currently, at this very early demo state, there are no hunter skills currently.

You gain exp from making kills and completing quests, and each lvl you gain HP, and a pick of 1 of three random perks, which stack, letting you shape your playstyle as you play; always nice to see that.

Visually, Troubled Passage has an approachable, easy on the eyes environmental approach, with the differing environments both looking distinct and varied, mixing up the gameplay a bit as you clear through each kind of area; village, fortresses, mines, and fortified Viking villages I have seen so far, and is packing it all in with a low poly look that helps insure that it runs well on varied systems; thus making sure that more people will be able to enjoy this fun little ARPG Roguelike in the making.
