Wendell was my grandfather. As a farmer, he and his family worked hard to bring hybrid seed corn farming to the midwest in the 30s and 40s. As a person, he was intelligent and kind - the most level-headed man I knew.
In 2013, I conducted a short interview with Wendell to document some of the history of his business - I wish it was several times longer, and covered his experiences as a pilot, engineer, and all the other facets of who he was, but this is a great memento to have. He passed away on May 25th, 2020, and will be missed dearly.
