105An Unexpected Journey | Conquering Pen Y Fan (Vlog).
As part of my recent trip to Brecon, i was browsing the local entertainment - and noticed a certain Mountain was 40 minutes away from our camping spot.
The plan was then set in motion, and we ventured from the Storey Arms route across a full-on Mountain detour (Corn Du route) and finally reached the Summit of Pen Y Fan in just over 2 hours. After taking a short lunch break, we realised we had to head back down (a bit like Bilbo feeling the 'There and Back Again' vibes!).
Pen Y Fan is the highest peak in South Wales and one of the highest peaks in South Britain, behind Snowdonia.
The Summit is a whopping 886 metres high (not including our steps and further trek over Corn Du!).
The Mountains were littered with Natural Pools, Lakes, Bronze Age Tombs/Gravesites, Wild Horses & Breath-taking views.
Anyone visiting Brecon Beacons, or is within a good distance of it, absolutely MUST visit this majestic and ancient place. I will 100% be returning to visit the surrounding Mountains, Peaks & Woodlands - my inner Hobbit was thriving way too much to not come back! :-)
