Analysis of two oxides of mercury gave the following results. \( 1.025 \mathrm{~g} \) of mercuric oxide gave \( 56.5 \mathrm{ml} \) of oxygen measured at \( 15^{\circ} \mathrm{C} \) and \( 750 \mathrm{~mm} \) pressure. \( 1.895 \mathrm{~g} \) of mercurous oxide gave \( 54.3 \mathrm{ml} \) of oxygen at \( 15^{\circ} \mathrm{C} \) and \( 750 \mathrm{~mm} \) pressure. Show that these data are in agreement with law of multiple proportions.
