Recently i posted a video about how easy it was to install and setup a #linuxgaming distro while commenting a week later about how i had previously been working on my own distro.
Well over the past week i've revisited the project and decided to change direction on it to be gaming based which will not effect my work / still offer the same stability i have come to enjoy with #debian11
Gamemode & DXVK:
- I did not cover these in the video as its more a dot point of whats installed vs what a user needs to know on first boot.
Why i prefer this:
- Its stable, Very stable compared to my experience with other distros
- The extra kernel is geared towards performance and not just gaming
- As little bloat as possible (i might shave a touch more out)
- Easy of setup / when testing/setting up a laptop i like everything done at once
Note for distro hate(rs):
- I'm not saying this is better than what is out there, I just want to show how friendly linux can be out of the box.
- Each of the games on the background have all worked awesome with this setup even while under streaming load.
- Yes each distro is different and some go that extra mile for top notch performance, that is not my goal here.
- This has been more of a journey starting with linux from scratch and learning to compile kernels before not wanting to maintain one.
- This is just a concept video currently and far from edited/straight recording.
- The name is just a quick prefix i use on most things / all customisations still pending & may just remain private/personal
