The Nintendo GameCube version of Animal Crossing has the ability to connect to an empty Game Boy Advance (GBA) to visit the island. You can see what it looks like on GameCube by viewing my "Animal Crossing - Island Trip" video. But this video shows how the island appears when played on a Game Boy Advance. My island villager is Ankha. You can drop fruit and tools near her to give her a hint of what you want her to do, but she doesn't always cooperate.

To answer a few potential questions:

1. To do this, you need a GameCube system (or a Wii that can play GameCube games), the GameCube version of Animal Crossing, a GameCube-Game Boy Advance cable, and a Game Boy Advance.

2. Any type of Game Boy Advance will work (original GBA, GBA SP, Game Boy Player).

3. If you use a Game Boy Player, you will still need a second GameCube (or a Wii) to play the GameCube version of Animal Crossing.

4. There is no stand-alone GBA version of Animal Crossing. This can only be done by linking to the GameCube version.

5. You can not use a DS in place of a GBA.

6. The DS version does not have an island you can visit.
