mobygames.com: Anito: Defend A Land Enraged is an RPG set in the fictional 16th century Asian land of Maroka. It has two characters that the player can choose to explore the rich tribal settings and colonial settlements, battling monsters and solving various quests along the way. The game is played from the viewpoint of a single character. There are no party-mates but NPCs and henchmen may occasionally join the player on quests. The player must solve the quests spanning 5 towns in Maroka. The player may also solve numerous side quests along the way to make his character more powerful. Combat is done in a real-time basis, with the player choosing from a wide array of Asian and colonial European-inspired weapons. The player has access to both melee and ranged weapons. Enemies ranged from fellow humans to characters based on Asian folklore, such as the Filipino "tikbalang". The skill system is defined by Chakras - 7 colors each representing a different "school" of inner magic. The player receives Chakra skills (equivalent of spells) through quests and items found within the game. Chakra skills may grow more powerful by Skill Up points gained throughout the game.
