AoCG | #41| Singularity (2010) When a good plot is ruined by sloppy execution
4Hi and welcome to another episode of CRAP on PC ... should also add Consoles, but when you play it on a Console, it is a OK game ... you could say the PC high standards just destroyed this game when all became Crystal Clear with Anti-aliasing and 1080p60fps on PC
It is the last game from the company Raven, and was theirs last chance after the horrible Wolfenstein ... to be a games developer , but it was a sales flop... flop for making a believable story line with an awful presentation ... lets just say , Activision wanted to have theirs own Bioschock ... and they got it ... but its so based on American representation how Russians live and talk and behave ... this all just turns you off ... on one hand you have this wonderful plot but on the other you have this horrible comedy representation of a horror story line ... not to mention on PC this game has serious Flaws , textures diminish theirs quality over time and only stream Low texture quality assets ... making this game suddenly look even worse then on consoles, this problem was so serious people made a file decryptor to get to the Unreal graphical options INI file to fix this bug , not to mention that on PC this game can suddenly out of nowhere go MUTE ... comedy gold
Lets just say the public out lash was so great , Raven was restructured by Activison to a DLC and Multiplayer company ... ouch , so sit back and enjoy , a game from a dev that was too understaffed and under budget to make a Game of the year... for the crowd that tough this was another Call of Duty
So why are you placing it in the OK list ... well, the PC version is flawed the console is not ... the story was nice ...and I liked that time controlling gimmick... but then again TimeShift from 2007 was 100x better

Some game tidbits that irked me:
1.Russian Island ... everything is written in English but with every second letter mirrored
2.Russian Island ... everyone speaks English ... if you ask me they could have easily fixed this ,by adding on the very first thing you see a note this is also a RUSSIAN SPY TRAINING FACILITY . and the note would say something like Every one should speak English , Violators Will Be Shot
3.Fire ... cannot harm you
4.Buildings are placed random to hide clipping holes , like a shed with a window to a wall ... GENIUS
5.Textures are copy pasted , so brutal that... sometimes you can see, when it begins and where it ends
6.We added health kits and E99 stuff to not be generic ... we spit in face when you call our product BioShock clone ...we ehmmm... we think ... we are OЯIGIИAL, see ... our cool mirrored FONTS
7.Clipping issues ... oh wait did this map was from Wolfenstein DLC
8.We add the sense of freedom to our games ... no BIG follow arrows ... only fake HEY LETS GO HERE ... and then the map will cave in and form a corridor
