In this video we are going to see how to install Apache Cassandra 2.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS from zip archive.
Apache Cassandra is a free and open-source distributed wide column store NoSQL database management system, providing high availability with no single point of failure. Cassandra 2.x version requires JDK 1.7 and Python 2.7 to get running.
Also in this video nodetool and cqlsh are used. cqlsh is a command line shell for interacting with Cassandra through CQL (the Cassandra Query Language).
Here in this video Keyspace is created using Simple Strategy class with replication_factor set to 3. Number of replication_factor is equal to number of times
data will be replicated in different nodes. If you are using single node to replicate then set replication_factor to 1. A sample table is created and records are inserted and fetched using cqlsh tool. Finally we learn cassandra installation in Ubuntu 18.04.
