After the relative excitement of the helicoptor fight, we finally reach Eli Vance's lab at Black Mesa East to take a break from the action. We get introduced to some new characters and learn some more about old ones, and bits of the backstory are explained as well. Amazingly, we just stand back and watch people go about their work, which is a real contrast to all the action hero stuff we've been doing before, giving the player a break from the excitement. Unfortunately, all of this storytelling is done through character interaction and dialog, with nothing special going on in terms of the architecture.
