Ok so I try to explain how this works. I am using an Arduino Nano as the controller..

The inline diode in the COR line is needed to make the Arduino revert back to its off state so the PTT is not hung up.. It is NOT needed on Motorola 16 pin radios but may be needed on 5 pin models or older types like Mitrak or Micor..

The NPN Transistor is needed regardless of the radio your using IG the PTT must be pulled to ground to activate, The transistor does just that off the arduino D8 pin 8, when it goes logic high (when it detects a LOW COR/COS on pin D2 ) the transistor switches on shunting the TX radios PTT to ground thus keying up the transmitter.

An arduino nano uses 5vdc and in order to get it you either need a USB power adapter or tap the LM7805 in the Maxon or build a simple 7805 regulator to convert 12vdc to 5vdc to utilize the B+ from the rear pins of motorola radios
