Now completely out of options, the ruling family of Carlac sent out a courier with a message to the Galactic Republic. This messenger arrived at the Ryloth system and transmitted the call for help before it was attacked and destroyed by a mandalorian fighter gunboat that had tracked it to the system.

The GAR forces located in the Ryloth system would receive that message, and send it to high command, where they would then deem it to be a conflict of interest. Taking Carlac away from the Separatists would give the republic a foothold it’s been looking for in preparation of the upcoming outer-rim sieges.

The 222nd Siege Battalion, having just recently completed a successful operation on the planet Ryloth, was first in line to respond to their call for help.
