Are Keyboard/Mouse Capabilities Actually Coming to the Xbox?
The old debate between mouse and thumbsticks is about to get turned up to an 11.
According to leaked documents sent to Windows Central, Xbox will soon support the keyboard and mouse with certain games.
The keyboard can already be used on Xbox for apps like web browsing. AND there’s already one game, and one game only, that supports keyboard and mouse on the Xbox, and that’s Minecraft. But, according to these new reports, Xbox is planning to witchcraft more games that can support the PC hardware by the end of the year.
Look, there’s no arguing the fact that the mouse and keyboard have a huge leg-up on the controller, especially when it comes to first person shooters.
So, the big question is: Will this be fair in multiplayer games? Well, that all depends on how games do their matchmaking.
If the games match players with the same controllers, then we see no problem. But when a console matches players with different input hardware, then it gets way out of hand. And we don’t need to speculate this BECAUSE PLAYSTATION ALREADY DOES THIS WITH FORTNITE. That’s right, if you’re playing the hit game on the PS4, chances are you’re playing with someone with a keyboard and mouse.
Do you think it’s unfair to match keyboard/mouse players with controller players? Let us know in the comments!
