Are These the Same Game? | An Over-Explaination of How Ports Work
10When I saw that the Psychonauts 2 Collector's Edition from iam8bit came with an Xbox One copy of the original Psychonauts, I got excited and curious! Was there a difference between the "Original" Xbox disc and this new one? I think I explain everything fairly well in the video, but there is one more thing I'd like to add. I think the branding of everything also adds to the confusion for me. With the Xbox being backward compatible, it's going to "read" the disc as being an "Original" Xbox game. Meanwhile, the PS4 makes it seem like a "true" port as there is no "PS2" branding because of the PS4's lack of backward compatibility. In reality, it's the same modern port, more or less. How each console handles it is, of course, slightly different. Again, perhaps doesn't need to be explained for some, but I find it interesting to think about! :)
