With the prices of videos games holding steady through 3 generations of consoles, I feel that maybe some of the issues we're having with games can be traced back to this. I ask the question of would you rather have higher priced games with all content included, or keep them at today's prices with dlc and micro-transactions? This came to mind because of the rise in issues with games becoming more pay to win and it seems that we are shelling out more money for dlc and micro-transactions that we are for the game itself. Truth is that games should indeed cost more. However, because of growing concerns that we wouldn't pay the higher prices, its forced publishers to keep prices low while adding dlc and micro-transactions to make up for the losses.
