The unit itself has served Skaven warlords for many years now and while not perfect, nothing Skaven is, it zaps at long range with reasonable accuracy and can cleave through entities like it's nobody's business. There's a place for that... since Plagueclaw Catapults and various weapons teams have a lot else covered!
