2,105Further confirmation and a warning:
After some of your comments and seeing this under the Community Code of Conduct...
"Don't: Share other users’ and your own personal and account information. Similarly, do not ask other people to give you their personal or account information."
...I called Sony again to confirm that the above was referring to your conduct while playing online. They confirmed that YES that is the case. Sharing your details with real life friends (or really anyone) is a discretionary matter and up to you. They don't advise it because anyone could try and steal your account but it's up to you whether you trust the person.
The Code Of Conduct refers to what you do while online so telling people your details or asking for theirs while playing online or via PSN messages is what is breaking their Terms.
That was a very clearly defined statement from Sony, you CANNOT GET BANNED OR EVEN RECEIVE A WARNING FOR GAME SHARING UNLESS YOU HAD SHARED THE SIGN IN DETAILS ACROSS THE PLAYSTATION NETWORK.
The reason you can't share details across PSN would be down to a legal liability matter, making sure that it doesn't come back on Sony if someone allows a stranger to sign in by sending details across PSN then that stranger steals their account. It's nothing to do with the game sharing itself as the activation feature is to ensure you can only share with one person at a time anyway.
So just be sure not to share details via PSN chat or messaging and you're fine sharing with friends and family as long as it's arranged outside PSN.
I have a reference number and the email address of their data protection officer who has a recording of my call should I ever want to have them send me the recording as proof. But they were very clear and this information backs up the video.
