Armed and Dangerous is a third-person shooter action game, that has a hovering camera behind Roman at all times. The game is played mostly on foot, with most levels incorporate usable gun emplacements. Although there are some base defense levels where players can use a moveable gun turret mounted on rails on top of a defensive wall. Those levels are played in first-person.
Playable weaponry and equipment in Armed and Dangerous is a mix of shooter staples that include bolt-action, sniper rifles, submachine guns and rocket launchers. There are also some unusual weaponry like the ‘Land Shark Gun’, which fires into the ground rapidly deploying a mature infant Land Shark that swims through the earth to devour your enemies. Another unusual weapon that’s used in this game is a miniature black hole. This weapon comes in the form of a grenade that can be thrown at enemies. Another weapon is a gas grenade that will turn against each other. Another weapon that is used during this game is a device that temporarily reverses gravity, causing enemies to fall into the sky by turning the world upside down. The enemies will fall to their doom from the height they fell from. Apart from the weaponry, some of the later levels equip the player with a jet pack, allowing flight over moderate distance.
